You couldn't grow up in Unadilla without knowing Alton. Alton always had a smile and robust laugh, usually along with a funny tale. After growing up and moving away from Unadilla, I would constantly compare other sanitizing engineers to Alton.. I was amazed that they didn't clean their trucks everyday and take such pride in what they did... brag I did about Alton! Although I hadn't seen him in yrs, I was at my parents helping them out a few yrs ago and I was thrilled when Alton rolled up the road... I ran out and of course Alton yelled out with a laugh and we had a great catch up chat... we will all miss his openness and outward caring for others...

Dearest Wendy and Mrs. D., I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your wonderful husband and father. There are so many memories to recall about him, but they don't give me enough room to write them all. I will share the thing I will always remember about him: If he thought I was just being ridiculous about something (and I often was), he would simply say "Oh, Susann!". Like the time when I felt car sick on the way back from the fair. I told him to pull over!! For that little charade, he gave me my nickname-you know the one! I am sorry I can't be with you today as I am out of town with my family. I will call you when we return. Of course I am thinking of you and send my love.
