So very sorry for your loss. John was at Agway, when I worked there as a very young man. He was very well respected, by me.

If you lived within a 100 mile radius of Bainbridge and did anything with antiques, chances are very good you knew John.
John's reputation preceded him of being a fair, honest and upstanding man to deal with. You always knew exactly what you were getting with John as he was a man willing to speak his mind, one of the qualities I admired most. In only a style that John could pull off, it didn't matter who he was talking to be it the IRS or a check-out person, if he felt he was being done wrong, they would hear about it AND he would get the situation fixed!
John was a go-getter as much as he was some one who very much appreciated the small things in life.
To know John was to see that smile that most always was on his face and when stories were shared, there was nothing like his sincere laughter that touched you with as much goodness as it did a sense of friendship.
I hate to count the many many years I have known John, Alice and many of their children that I also attended school with.
It would not be proper to talk about John without mentioning his utmost devotion of his wife Alice. Again, another quality of this very special man.
John is a man that will be much more than missed. To say "they just don't make men like that anymore" has never rang more true then it rings now with the loss of John. The void we are now left with is one that will never be filled. May he be at peace and receiving his just due rewards.

So sorry to hear the passing of John. Will miss the stories he always told of everyday life and the Fire Department. Not going to be the same without him at the Firemen's Annual Clam Bake. Thoughts and Prayers go out to family and May God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I knew John for over twenty years. I first met him as a tool customer, and then became good friends with him. He was such a good man, nice to all, and I will miss stopping to see him as I go past his house.....
