I work with the Area Agency on Aging and had the privilege of visiting Richard in his home. He was very warm and welcoming to me and once he knew I grew up on a farm, and love the farm life, we were instant friends. He was at a point in life where things were getting harder to do, but he tackled that as if it were a day of mowing hay, one field at a time and life one day at a time.
My life is richer having know Richard. May you be comforted at this time knowing he was a really special person and you were blessed to have had him in your life.

Richard was my father in law for 17 years. He was a special man. In addition to all you may know about him he was true "cow man". A cow man knows his animals so well that they can tell when they are ill before li is to late to cure them.

Sorry for your loss. Dick is a great man. Dick is a relative of mine through the Lyon side of the family. I remember him well. Used to visit at the farm years back. My dad, Ed, and Dick were friends through the dairy industry.May the Doolittle family please accept my condolence.
