Obituary of Lloyd Carroll Johnson

Lloyd Carroll Johnson Sidney, NY Lloyd Carroll Johnson, 86 of Moncks Corner, SC and formerly of Sidney passed away on Monday December 14, 2009 at Trident Regional Medical Center, North Charleston, SC. He was born April 3, 1923 in Franklin, NY, the son of Edward Carroll and Mary (Rowell) Johnson. He married Jacqueline F. Meade on June 11, 1966. He is survived by his wife Jackie, two sons Robert and Craig, both of Franklin, NY, a step-daughter Linda (Tim) O'Brien of Moncks Corner, SC and a step-son Rob (Louise) Meade of Pinopolis, SC; five grandchildren, Michael Lamb, Sherie (Dale) Morris, Jessica (JP) Morgan, Kristopher (Whitney) Meade and Brielle Meade; five great grandchildren: Alyta Lamb, Olivia and Emma Morris and Zada and Philip Morgan. Also surviving are two brothers, Lewis of Sidney and Richard of Rochester, VT; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Lawson of Las Vegas, NV and Sandra Wright of Cripple Creek, VA. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Phyllis, a brother, Robert, and a sister-in-law, Helen. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Force as a B24 Pilot and until his death had a great love for flying. Lloyd was best known for beautiful lathe wood working projects, his love of the outdoors and his lawn and flower gardens. He retired in 1977 from Bendix and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Sidney. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 11:00am at the First Congregational Church, Sidney. The family will greet people in the Birch Room at the Church from 10:00am-11:00am. Burial with military honors will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 1 Bridge Street Sidney, NY 13838.
