Obituary of Bernadette R. Wicks

Bernadette R. Wicks Afton, NY Bernadette Ruth Wicks, 63, of Afton, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Wilson Regional Medical Center, Johnson City. She was born on November 15, 1952 in Meadow Brook, NY, daughter of the late Howard and Katherine (Zatorski) Wicks. "Aunt Glitter", "Aunt Bobo" or "Granny B" as she was lovingly referred, had a zest for life. She loved spending time with her family, dancing and ceramics. She was a tremendous cook and enjoyed rock concerts. She always had a positive outlook, no matter what. She will be missed by: her daughter, Susan Lawson, and her fiancé, Eric Bowman, of Mechanicsburg, PA; 3 step-grandsons: Austin, Tyler and Harold as well as her fur-grandbaby, Bella; longtime companion, Richie Jackson of Cuddlebackville, NY; 7 sisters and brothers: Irene Yager, Helen Boudreau, Howard Wicks, Bill Wicks, Joan Lockwood, Henry Wicks and Harold Wicks; sister-in-law, Gloria Wicks, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Bernadette was predeceased by her sister, Kathy Gregory and her brother, Frank Wicks. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Memorial services will follow at 11:00am with Rev. Fred Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton.
