Obituary of Allen Rhinesmith

Allen Rhinesmith Bainbridge—Allen Rhinesmith, 81, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 2, 2016 at his home. He was born on March 18, 1934, one of ten children of the late Orlin and Jenny (Vreeland) Rhinesmith in Ringwood, NJ. On April 25, 1954, he was married to Leah Sheppard in Butler, NJ. Allen was a talented master carpenter. He loved hunting and fishing, and was the greatest grandfather ever. He is survived by: his beloved wife of 61 years, Leah Rhinesmith of Bainbridge; four children: Marcy Boyan of Bainbridge; Doreen Potrikus and her husband, Joseph, of Fly Creek; Timothy Rhinesmith and his wife, Joan, of Warwick, NY; and Lisa Lohse and her husband, Phil, of Fremont, Indiana; 5 grandchildren: Meghan (Colin) Hudson, Kristyn (Scott) McManus, and Thomas, Jeffrey and Amanda Potrikus; great-grandson, Conor McManus; three sisters: Marge Hearle, Susan Hearle, Lois (David) Koman; two brothers: Arthur (Joan) Rhinesmith, Orlin (Kathy) Rhinesmith; sister-in-law, Shirley Rhinesmith; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Orlin and Jenny Rhinesmith, Allen was predeceased by his son-in-law, Joseph Boyan; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Lewis Search, three brothers and a sister-in-law: Alex Rhinesmith, Harry Rhinesmith and Donald (Mae) Rhinesmith; and brothers-in-law, William Hearle and Phil Hearle. Friends may call from 5:00-7:00pm on Friday, March 4, 2016 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will be held at 9:15am on Saturday, March 5th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1 Lions Park Lane, Greene, NY 13778.
