Dear Faye and Fred,
I read about the passing of your father in the paper this past week. I am so sorry for your loss. Your father and mother and my parents enjoyed a great neighborhood friendship for many years and they were always there to help each other out. Your Dad was just a year younger than my parents as they both passed away this past year at the ages of 96 and 97. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to hear of "Mr. Jerry" 's passing. When we lived on Lincoln Avenue my daughters would wait for the bus from Jerry's front porch. He was always worried about them being in the rain or cold. He was just a plain old good, kind person.

Fred and Faye,
Sorry for your loss, You were all great neighbors and always remember how kind your parents were to me growing up. They also always allowed me to run through the back yard when I was a fireman, it just helped me get to the station quicker. Thinking of you all at this time.

I am going to miss Uncle Rome so very much. Even after moving south, I was still able to visit with him most every trip to NY. What a wonderful man; always so happy and had a smile no matter how he felt. Will cherish the memories! Now he will be able to see and be with the woman that he missed so very much, Aunt Phyllis.
You are with the angels and God now, Uncle Rome!

My late husband, George and I thought so much of Jerry. He was always so sweet and kind....such a gentleman. We considered him a friend and I often thought of him and tried to make contact a while back but the number I had didnt work.
Now I realize he was at the Vet's Home, just a short drive up the road. Wish I had know....it would have been a pleasure to visit him.
Please accept my condolences on the loss of this fine man. He was a gem!

Fred, Faye and family:
Jerry was truly a very kind, friendly, and gentle man. He befriended our son, Noel, when they were room mates in the hospital. What a time the two of them had together! How we missed waving to him and Fred as they sat out on the front porch on East Main Street after he moved to his new apartment. Always had to back the car up so we could sit and visit with him. So glad that Donna brought him over to the house to visit wth Noel, too. What enjoyable memories we made wth him. Believe me, he was loved and will be missed by all of us~ our sympathies...

Jerry was a neighbor for many years on Keith Street.........my kids loved to trick or treat at his house and chat with him about his flowers. It was a crime if you drove down the street without waving to him on the porch, and stopping to chat if you had the time. After admiring his blue morning glories......he promptly brought me some seeds and I have been growing them ever since! He shared veggies from his garden and fun stories of the adventures he and Father Gordon took. His face was a welcomed one at church..........and pushing the wheel barrel down the street. It was a pleasure to have such a kind hearted man touch our lives. Rest Easy Jerry.

Jerry was a great man! I spent quite a bit of time around he and Phyllis when I was young, as Phyllis was my grandma'a (Mildred Winchester) best friend. I remember that Jerry was a very giving and kind person. He had an infectious laugh and smile. Behind his eyes, there was a gentle grace and affection. One of the greatest!

It seems. Like yesterday! But it was in the 50's! Romey had the station in Afton. I lived a block away. As a child I was excited - He had a Soda Cooler and a cabinet with Candy in it! Rome was my Dad's mechanic and where he bought gas! This first person I remember as a child who was a total Gentleman! I wish I could have known him as I grew up! He made a tremendous impression on me! My thought and prayers are with you??gfg
