Obituary of Heather Ann Valentine

Heather Ann Valentine Sidney, NY Heather Ann Valentine, 39 of Sidney went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the M.I. Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY. She was surrounded by her family and friends. Heather was born on July 7, 1969, daughter of Earl and Nanatte "Cookie" (Dimorier) Polster in Walton, NY. Heather graduated from Sidney High School with the class of 1987. She went on to work as a teacher's aide at Sidney High School for 7 years. She was admired and loved by co-workers and students alike. On December 13, 1987 Heather married Larry K. Valentine in Sidney, NY. Heather was very active in her community. She was a former member of the Sidney Emergency Squad, as well as a member of the McDonald Hose Co. #2 Ladies Auxiliary and the Sidney Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Circle Drive Alliance Church, Sidney. Heather was a real outdoors lover, and greatly enjoyed camping and hunting. She was also the definition of a "sports mom", and tried to attend any event her children participated in. To Heather, family was the most important thing, and she greatly cherished hers. One of her favorite activities was cooking for her family. She was an amazing wife, mom, daughter and sister. She will be greatly missed, but her life will be celebrated every day with the wonderful memories she helped make. Heather is survived by: Her loving husband of 21 years, Larry K. Valentine Sidney 2 daughters, Kyla Renee Valentine and Kortney Ann Valentine Sidney 1 son, Korbin Kenneth Valentine Sidney Her parents, Earl and Cookie Polster Sidney 2 Sisters: Heidi Haskell Masonville Lacy and Randy Newell Sidney 2 nieces, Kendra Newell and Hailey Newell Nephew, Jesse Newell Several aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as numerous friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11:00am at the Circle Drive Alliance Church, Circle Drive, Sidney, with Rev. Robert Goldenberg, pastor officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Heather's memory may be sent to the Tri-Town Relay for Life, 5 Oak Avenue, Sidney, NY 13838.
