Sad Tidings
October 9, 2016
Our family at C.H. Landers have heavy hearts as we sorrowfully announce the unexpected passing of our friend and longtime employer, James "Jim" Barnhart.
Jim was raised in Sidney and graduated from Sidney High School in 1962. He graduated from Simmons School of Mortuary Science (Syracuse, NY) in 1964 and began working for C.H. Landers in July of that year.
In 1970, Jim and his wife, Carol (Faigle) were married.
In January 1972, Jim purchased the funeral chapel from Charles Landers. He officially retired and sold the funeral chapel to Jeff on March 31, 2015 after 52 years of working in the funeral industry.
During his career, he touched countless lives, including our own. To say he will be missed is an understatement.
