Obituary of Shirley W. Horrell

Shirley W. Horrell Sidney, NY Shirley W. Horrell, 82, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, May 1, 2014 at Bridgewater Nursing Home in Binghamton. Shirley was born on April 6, 1932 in Oxford and graduated from Sidney High School with the Class of 1950. She worked for many years at Amphenol Corp. as a secretary, and later at Gelder Medical Group in Sidney until her retirement. Shirley enjoyed life's simple pleasures: she loved cats, roses, Sunday drives, crocheting and puzzles. She spent a lot of time with friends, and always looked forward to Sidney Alumni Weekend and high school reunions. Shirley is survived by: Son, Robert Horrell of Oxford Daughter, Linda Nabinger of Bainbridge 5 grandchildren: Garry Nabinger and his wife, Nicole, of Binghamton, Celestia Nabinger and her fiancé, Kodi Frank of Bainbridge, and Lucas Horrell, Kayla Horrell and Scott Horrell, all of California 2 great-grandchildren Sister, Pat and Ernie Parizzi of Virginia Brother, Jim and Jan Smith of Alabama As well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Orlo and Lena Reed; her husband, Robert P. Horrell in 1990; two brothers, Fred Smith and James Whittaker, and two sisters, Arlene Henry and Joyce Swarts. The family wishes to thank all of the special friends that brought joy to Shirley's life over the years. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
