Obituary of Steven Thomas Medlar

Steven T. Medlar Bainbridge, NY Steven T. Medlar, 63, of Bainbridge, passed away on November 2, 2013 at A.O. Fox Hospital after fighting a long battle with heart disease. The fourth of five children, Steven was born to Kenneth C. Medlar and Marjorie M. (Vidette) Medlar on February 20, 1950. On May 29, 1971, he married the love of his life, Cynthia K. Campbell in Walton, NY. In addition to his parents, Steven was predeceased by two brothers, Gary R. Medlar of Sidney and David G. Medlar of Houston, TX. Steven is survived by: his wife of 42 years, Cynthia Medlar; his two daughters, Sherri A. Medlar-Cole and her husband, Steve of Bainbridge, and Kimberly M. Medlar and her fianc Jason Boise of Sidney; his step-grandson, Levi S. Cole of Otego; granddaughter, Makenna A. Cole of Bainbridge; two brothers, Richard Medlar of Provincetown, MA and Raymond Medlar and his wife, Marie of Shrewsbury, MA; sister-in-law, Mary Medlar of Sidney and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear family friends. Special thanks to Charles and Evelyn Emerson, Sheri Kinsella and Nick Johnson for being there in our time of need; it won't be forgotten. Steven worked for Mead West Vaco for 43 years before retiring in February of 2012. His greatest passion in life was his family. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. Let us not forget his beloved cat, Tabby, who is waiting in Heaven for him to join her. Before his illness, Steven was active in playing many sports including softball, basketball and bowling. Friends are invited to call from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney. Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Unadilla. Following the services, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Sidney Elks Lodge, River Street.
