Obituary of Bruce Patrick Haak

Bruce P. Haak, Jr. Afton, NY Bruce P. Haak Jr., 66, of Afton, NY passed away unexpectedly October 29, 2013. Bruce was born in Owosso, Michigan, one of three children to Bruce and Muriel Haak. He is survived by: his wife, Joyce; son, Brian and grandson, Corbin of Swartz Creek, Michigan; daughter Kathleen of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Marilinda Schor of Newark, Ohio; and brother & sister-in-law Tim and Mary Ann Haak of North Muskegon, Michigan. He was a graduate of Owosso High School where he was a proud member of their wrestling team. Graduating from Cal Pol Tech in California as an equine podiatrist, Bruce chose this occupation as his career for 45 years. Through the years he bred, raced and trained top level Quarter horses, Appaloosas and Thoroughbreds. His passion in later years was carriage driving where he met a wide array of people and drove different breeds of horses. Bruce was known for his willingness to share the love of that sport to all. As he was loved, so shall he be missed. Friends are invited to call from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street Sidney.
