The photo provided here expresses what Millie Johnson was all about. Gentle, nurturing, guiding without force, caring and smiling. Over the years, I've heard from so many who fondly recall their summers working at the farmstand or in the fields at Johnson's. For some, we're talking 30-40 years ago! Millie is once again with Walt, so together they can truly reap the ultimate harvest that was well-earned.

To all the family: Millie was truly a remarkable woman. Our memories of visiting the farm when we first came to Sidney and meeting both Millie and Walt and the family will never be forgotten. Millie always had a beautiful smile and kind words for everyone. We have watched the children grow up, having had Pete in school and teaching side by side with Charlotte. Judy had Steven, one of the grandsons in second grade. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone and we know you will treasure and cherish all of the wonderful memories.

We have known Millie since we moved to Sidney in 1976 and going to the farm market, then by working with her at the NBT Bank. She was a sweet, wonderful person who will be dearly missed. You can be thankful to have her as a member of your family for so many years.

What a great lady Sidney has lost. I remember many years ago we forgot to get Halloween pumpkins for your young daughters. The farm stand was all out. The next day 2 pumpkins appeared on our porch. We knew that Mrs Johnson had dropped them off. That is the kind of lady that she was. Rest in peace Mrs. Johnson.
