Obituary of Sharon Alice Thompson

Sharon Alice Thompson Sidney, NY Sharon Alice Thompson from Sidney New York passed into glory on Tuesday July 30th 2013 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her mother Frances Finch, her father Kenneth Finch and her sister Linda M Brown. She is survived by: her beloved husband Marion (Jeff) Thompson of Sidney; son, Dennis B. Thompson (Helen) of Dover, Delaware; daughter, Terrie L. Moore (Edward) and children (Joshua, Joel, Jonathan and John P) of Plano, Texas; daughter, Suellen J. Sheard (Daniel) and children (Danita and Lance); brothers: Paul K. Finch (Joyce) and Donald H. Finch (Mary Ella); sister, Beverly A. Curtin (Peter) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sharon graduated from Walton High School, class of 1959. Her early career involved type setting at the Walton Reporter, Washington Post and Tri-Town News. She dearly loved her family and children. Sharon's life revolved around church; she always put others before herself and enjoyed serving her community. Sharon began her day by reading the Bible, while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. Visiting hours will be from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday August 3rd at the First Baptist Church of Afton, Caswell Street, Afton. Internment will immediately follow in the Walton Cemetery, Walton, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sharon's memory may be made to the Linda Brown Memorial Library at the First Baptist Church of Sidney, 28 River St. Sidney, NY 13838 or to the Child Evangelism Fellowship in Afton New York.
