Obituary of Lucy Mary Scaglione

Lucy Scaglione Sidney, NY Lucy Labruzzo Scaglione, of Circle Dr. Sidney, NY, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2013 at the age of 92. Her daughter and son-in-law were by her side as she began her journey. Lucy was born in the Bronx, NY on August 31st, 1920, daughter of Luciano and Antoinette Labruzzo. On October 13, 1940, she married Peter Scaglione. They shared 65 years together, until his passing in 2005. They had two daughters, Frances (Weis) and Antoinette (Sullivan), six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Lucy and Peter lived in Armonk, NY for many years in a home that was the center of many family gatherings and happy memories of typical Italian Sunday dinners surrounded by scores of children and family, and fed by Lucy's wonderful and abundant cooking. Lucy was always happiest when surrounded by her large, loving family. Lucy stayed at home to raise her children until they were grown; she then began her work at the Armonk Central Schools Cafeteria, where she was again with children. In the early 1980s Lucy and Pete moved to Sidney where they lived out their lives happily. Friends may call from 12:00 to 2:00pm on Saturday, February 16th at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00pm at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty Street, Sidney, with Rev. Fr. Gordon Polenz as celebrant. Lucy asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, PO Box 182 Sidney, NY 13838.
