I did not know you personally but heard so much about you and the wonderful "angel in the sky" you were to the animals you worked so hard to save. I thank you sincerely for your efforts. I want your family to know how you have touched and inspired so many people apart from those who actually knew you. Rest in peace with God knowing that your efforts are not and were not in vain and that your legacy will continue on through the animals that were saved and the people that were touched by your kindness and generosity.

Scottie! We only knew each other for a short time, but in that brief period you made an impression on me. Your beautiful spirit, wonderful personality and honest love for so many people were evident. You were a dog lover, like me! I wish Tanya and I could have made it up to your and Joe's house! We talked about it so many times. But we are so glad you got down here for that beautiful, fun wedding and that you guys came and had pizza and wine coolers with us. One thing Joe learned that evening was, you didn't JUST like cheese pizza - haha!! What we do for love. I was honored to meet you Scott, and will miss your kind words and funny thoughts on Facebook. Will be praying for your kids, your Mom and Joe and Carol as they grieve for you. With much love Tina

I will always remember Scottie and Joe coming to North Carolina and the great times we had at the beach and eating fried porkchops my husband cooked for them. It was rescue animals that brought us together and i will honor that in my future endeavors as I continue Scotties legacy. It was Scotts silly sense of humor and kindness that I will carry with me always. He reached out to me in one of my darkest hours and was incredibly supportive of me. My heart is irrevocably broken and I will never forget him. He was taken from us much too soon and i can only hope that our God will keep him safe in heaven until we shall meet again. I loved you SO much dear Scott and your incredible heart. I will never be the same again.

Scott - thank you for being you - I am a better person and rescuer because I knew you. We will continue on with the rescue project we discussed and it will be in your honor. You taught me that there are still good people in the world, to laugh until I hurt and that I probably had a "twin" in the world - that would be you. I am devastated to have lost a friend but I rejoice in knowing that you are dancing in the fields of grace with our Father God! Godspeed, my friend...until we meet again at the rainbow bridge!

To the Family of Scott Allen Stevens, my heart goes out to you. I grew up with Scott even though raised in a different township and school system Scott had a way to make friends wherever. I hadn't seen or heard from Scott in quite a few years until just recently while setup at a yard sale...Scott and the boys showed up and greeted me just like it was yesterday. Nothing ever seemed to change with Scott. Always smiled and remembered your name. He told me where he lived so I could come visit with the family as we found our families live so close to each other and didn't know it. Scott I am so sorry I didn't make it to your home here on Earth. However, some day I will make it to your new home in Heaven. I know in my heart again years later you will call me by my name and have a smile on your face. May you rest in peace Scott. Christina Marie Manderville Townsend

Oh, Scott... Where to begin. So much time has passed since our friendship first began. You were a wonderful friend to me and my family. My girls adored you and your silly ways. Joe and I still talk about conversations you and I would have about childhood and how similar our "kinfolk" were! How I will miss you, dear friend. I know you are in the arms of Jesus; away from the sin and unhappiness and pain of this world.
Hunter, Spencer, and Mariah- Your daddy was a wonderful man and a wonderful friend. Never forget who he was; a kind, loving, giving human being who would give a stranger the shirt off his back. We all suffered a loss, but none more than the three of you. I want you to know that you were #1 in his life, always. No one and nothing came before you in his eyes. <3 God's peace be with you all.
