Mary and I shared a birthday and a whole lot more. One of the most respected coaches in all New York State, Mary's real talent was making Sidney's best individual female athletes into field hockey players who were all about the team. She did the same for volleyball and softball in the early days following Title IX. There was such joy in her heart when her girls rose to the occasion! I saw that same joy when she knew my wife and I adopted pets from the animal shelter. Rest in Peace Mary. You ARE a Hall of Famer.

Mary came to SHS in my Senior year. She was a spunky, energetic phys ed teacher, and she made gym fun for those of us who were not so athletic. I got to know her better when she coached my girls in Field Hockey. Rest in peace, special lady. You will be missed by so many.

Mary was a wonderful mentor, motivator, coach, teacher and friend. She motivated me to become SHS first to score perfect on the NYS phys. fitness test. She encouraged each of us to reach and attain our very best. She is now at peace and probably coaching the angel Volleyball Team in Heaven. Mary, you have indeed left a legacy and shoes that will never be filled the way you did.

Mrs.V will be remembered by all who knew her. Her energy and love for sports was evident in the way she taught. She never made a student feel bad about themselves if they were not athletic, she just tried to give all the confidence you needed. She was a one-of-a-kind, and a true teacher extrordinair.

Mary was one of a kind... ball of energy....of high intensity... loud and entertaining...positively charged passionate educator and coach! She was one step ahead in her coaching and her memory will resonate into the future much like her voice did across the playing field. She knew what momentum was and how to use it! She was the very best coach that I had the honor of playing for and I had some good ones! Mary will be remembered for touching the lives of so many athletes and students in such an inspirational and positive way. I Love you Mary...Love Josie

I had the good luck of becoming acquainted with Mary a few years ago, as I am an employee of the Humane Society.
She was an energetic, happy, person with a terrific sense of humor. I loved to see her pull in for a visit. She was a fun lady, that always made the day seem so much brighter and happier!
She would always bring in lots of donations for the animals. She was a huge supporter of the Humane Society, and we were very lucky to have known her.
Mary was a great lady, with a huge heart, for her friends, both human, and animal!
We will miss you Mary!!!!

Have a lot of fun memories of "hanging out" in Mrs. Morrison's office in Middle School. She would always let our group of friends have little soda parties in her office and talk and laugh...there was always a lot of laughs with her. Thanks for being you...

Yes, Mary, thanks for being you. Thanks for being the Mary who loved a great party and a wonderful laugh, the Mary who loved to take photos of the sky, who loved to walk in the woods, who was fascinated by new people and their stories, who trusted others without reservation, who engaged in rapid "channel switching" turning an ordinary conversation into a sort of quiz show, who loved to read and never waivered about the best book ever (Leon Uris's Trinity), the Mary who would interrupt what you were saying or even what she herself was saying to observe, "Now THAT's a neat word! Don't you just love that word?", the Mary who doted on the song, "If I Could Put Time in a Bottle." If only.

My first memories of Mary are of her as my elementary gym teacher and she has been one of my favorites ever since! It was an honor to play for her and I appreciate all that she taught me about field hockey, but more than that she taught us all how to be good people, how to win and lose with class and helped us gain the confidence to reach our goals. Thank you for all that you are Ms. M, we will miss you so much.

I found Mrs. M to be a wonderful person and coach. She was the perfect balance of fun, educational and tough (when she had to be). Her laugh was infectious.
I didn't realize what an animal lover she was. I wish I had as I share that passion. I pray that her animals are being well taken care of and that they recover from this loss as well.
Mrs. M was a wonderful friend to my aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rowlands. I'm so thankful for that.
My sincere condolences to the entire family. Please know that she will be missed and well remembered.

Mrs. V as I knew her was a great motivator and had a passion for athletics that was contagious! I had the honor of playing for her 1975-1978. Some of my best school memories are of the many field hockey games I participated in for her. She also was a guidance counselor that took the time to talk to my daughter about striving to do her best but to go easy on herself when she didn't do as well as she thought she should. I hope she knew how much she was loved and can rest in peace!
