A great neighbor, father, devoted husband, and dedicated public servant. Mr. Goodrich had an fantastic dry sense of humor. I'll never forget him singing "Shuffle off to Buffalo" while loading the family car for a trip. A great man who will be missed. Our deepest sympathy to the family.

Another of the fantastic public servants our village is known for has passed. But I think he'd prefer to consider himself a husband and father first. Our sincere condolences for your loss. Walt put the "Good" in Goodrich.

To the family; I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Walt just recently and enjoyed knowing him. I worked with him on the East Sidney Lake Park upcoming season. He was an exceptional person. I'm sure I can speak for Ed and Grace Backus when I say that we are very sorry for you loss.

I think the first time that I saw Walter was in the early 1980's, and he was in his Trooper's uniform. His size and the uniform would lead you to believe he was scary. Not so. Walter had a great sense of humor, a little bit sarcastic, which I loved. I treated him as a patient at Dr. Rothman's and later at Dr. Hinkley's. I looked forward to my visits with Walt. His eyes twinkled when he spoke about his family, especially his grandchildren. Oh, how he loved those kids! He also wanted to hear about my grandchildren. He was just a fair, honest, genuine super human being...a gentle giant. To his dear wife, Susan, and to Robin and Andy, his three grandchildren, and all the family, I send my sympathy. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time and may your memories comfort you. Although I only knew Mr. Goodrich as "Andy's dad" while growing up I did have a few thought provoking conversations with him in the past few years. Thank you Mr. Goodrich.

Memories of Walt go back to the him bringing Andy in for haircuts. Over the years we would have some very good , if somewhat "off the wall" chats. He was so funny and his quick mind and wit were difficult to keep up with. He was one of the best and will be greatly missed.

Susan, Robin, Andrew. I am so sorry to hear of your unexpected loss. My heart goes out to all of you. I remember Walt as a Trooper and then Sgt and Walt and Susan as they save for the down payment on their first house. A novel way at the time. Most importantly I remember a great fellow - and his phrase which I still use today - "profanity is a feeble attempt etc" I use it today fairly often. I am sorry I cannot be in Sidney today- But I was in Eastern Europe when I received the e mail and the earliest funeral I could get back for was flying back Sunday. So that didnt work - But at 4PM Eastern Today - 23:00 in Istanbul, I will stop whatever I am doing and pray with you and for the lord to help you through these tough times. Walt Schumacher

Dear Susan,Robin,Andy and Grandchildren,
Your loss is so great, we are so sorry for the passing of Uncle Walter. Our memories go back to the times in Buffalo such as high school, double dating and the most precious time in my life when Walter walked me down the isle and gave me away at my wedding. Also, the time when Uncle Walter went off to be a state trooper and Tom went off to be a Buffalo Police Officer at the same time. Our prayers and love are with you all and Uncle Walter will always be in our hearts.
With Love, Tom and Shirley Ann.
