Barbara, you have reached the final destination and I hope you are composing heavenly music with Poulenc. I was blessed to have you as a mentor in voice as you helped me to brave the storm in doing solo pieces and really understand what I was singing and to have my back story. You wrote the most wonderful Christmas and Easter plays and I was honored to be part of the process.
I was sorry we never got a chance to have another bbq outing with you and Robert. Good conversation and food. You were missed before you left. Love you Barbara.

Barbara was a wonderful piano teacher- firm and inspiring. I'm grateful that to this day I can sit down at the piano and play at least a bit. I also remember taking lessons in her apartment where she somehow got two grand pianos up to the second floor. That opened up a world to me of how resourceful, determined, and motivated a woman could be to make that happen. I also loved the pictures after each lesson. I thought all piano teachers did that, but no, Barbara was extra special. I believe the portrait I'm attaching was a self-portrait of her that I requested.

Barbara was my piano teacher years ago. I remember her patience with me and that she even played a piece I wrote -which I’m sure wasn’t very good. But it touches me that she took it seriously. And I loved all of her drawings. I always hoped to come up with something she couldn’t draw but I never did. I remember her very fondly. -Heather Pence

I took piano lessons from Barbara for many years. She always drew a picture in my lesson book and I saved that book to this day. I always tried to stump her with something hard to draw but I never did. I would say she gave me my love of playing the piano and led to me accompanying choirs and singers in HS and college. Many fond memories of her.

I am blessed to have been mentored and taught by this talented lady! She most certainly will be missed and left a legacy of music, joy, humor, and a deep faith she was willing to share. She always said she wanted to meet Henry Thoreau and Mr. Poulenc! I picture her sitting on a bench with both and Jesus. She will forever have a place in my heart! Love you, Barbara!

Barbara, as you always said " You never know when something you have sung or said will touch someone" and no truer words could be spoken. You have selflessly taught, mentored, coached and befriended many during this earthly life. You are with God now and get to set down on a bench and have a discussion with Henry David Thoreau on nature and his writings. Author to author in the presence of the Almighty Author, God. Amen
