So sorry to hear of Dr. Winnick's passing. He cared for our pets while growing up and for our pets for the beginning of our married life. His way of doctoring was terribly missed when he retired and now another icon of Sidney has passed. May his memories bring you comfort in the times ahead. Kevin & Rene' Glendening Treffeisen

Gary, I am sorry to learn of your father’s passing. You always talked fondly of your Dad. I have wondered through the years how our older, now, 1970 caravaners with Pastor Bill are.

Son Gary, who has been a friend and coconspirator of mine for many year, is impressive testimony of the great loss that the death of his father represents to our world. Would that I'd known Edward directly.... I hope that memories he's left with his family and friends will offset their immediate grief. Rima Bostick

Another Sidney icon has left this Earth for a better place. Growing up in Sidney, I recall taking our dogs - first Patty then Pasha - to the “clinic” as everyone called his place. Doc came out to greet us each time. Direct service!
It’s also worth noting his monumental decision to pass on a potentially individual pursuit of a baseball career to plunge into a life’s work of Veterinary service that benefitted hundreds of animals and their owners. Priceless in my view.
Condolences to the family. Your husband and father definitely displayed such skill with honor and class. A life very well-lived.

To the entire Winnick Family-
Before starting our garbage company, my husband had the pleasure of working with Leo Cahenzli on the house on Gifford Road building up the fireplaces. And, before that, he was a vet for Paul's dog, Lady. We have been honored to grow up with so many men like Ed in our community, and it is our loss when they pass. Please know we are thinking of all of you. I'm sure you have many wonderful memories of a life well lived. May the bring you some comfort during this difficult time. Our condolences to all.

Dr. Winnick was a great man in our community. I remember taking many of our dogs to his Clinic. It seemed that he could almost just look at the animal and diagnose what the problem was and get her on the road to recovery. I played a few rounds of golf with him and enjoyed watching him hit the ball into another Zip code. He was a man that I respected and thought well of since I was a boy growing up in Sidney. God speed Doc. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Winnick and the family.

Sending my sincere condolences and love to Kay, your sons, and all the Winnick family members. Many happy memories of times spent with you began in 1955. Ed's presence in a room was always very special. I share the deep respect that everyone has for Ed.
