“It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday”...Don Phelps, our family’s dear friend since 1945. The “Greatest Generation” was personified in this dignified gentleman, a person who lived his life following a simple moral code of decency. Perhaps we can collectively follow his lead by modeling our lives accordingly. I offer my sincere condolences to the family.
Forever in my heart,
Delores (Leach) Atkinson

Don was my favorite Bainbridge Rotary Club Valentine's lunch date. Even when he was no longer able to come to Bob's Diner to join our meeting, we were able to continue our tradition and enjoy a meal together at his home. He was sure to share his photos with me each year and tell me how much he loved his family and his time in the Navy. He was a wonderful neighbor to our family and will be missed by many.
