Thank you all for the kind words. My father was a gentle, quiet man who didn't like a fuss, but he would surely appreciate knowing that he is remembered so fondly. The pandemic has of course changed how we can celebrate his life. We were unable to hold a funeral and his burial was attended by only his immediate family. We hope to hold a proper celebration when times are more settled.

So sorry to hear. We have known Doug and his wonderful family for a long time. I was proud to have 3 of his daughters in class, and FFA. They all excelled thanks to his (and Ginny) caring and doing and going to wherever they needed to take them. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Ireland's passing. He always seemed quiet around all the things going on in the house when I was there with Nadine. But whenever he had something to say, he was always listened to.
It's always sad to hear of a friend leaving this earth to go with God. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

It’s apropos the old biblical verse (paraphrased) that “the greatest is the least” comes to mind. The obituary is proof. Many many good deeds, honest hard work, a sunny disposition and thinking & doing for others are all true but he’d never tell you about it. Thank you Doug for leading a lifestyle that set a great example. Condolences to the large loving family.
